The Basilicata Museum District and the National Dance Academy present, Friday, November 30, 2018 in Matera, at the National Archaeological Museum Domenico Ridola [the oldest museum in Basilicata], RO-MAT TransumAND, the last stop of the traveling exhibition of historical costumes 'Academy of Dance that, starting from Rome last June 20, has touched other six cities [L'Aquila, Teramo, Pescara, Campobasso, Benevento, Foggia] located on the ancient sheep track of transhumance.
Realized thanks to the contribution of the Third Pillar Foundation - International, the exhibition consists of fifty dresses, dating between 1935 and 1968, chosen among the many who wrote the history of the Academy founded in 1948 by Jia Ruskaja.
The installation of Marco Schaufelberger titled Clio il Bacio della Musa will be inaugurated within the initiatives planned for the staging of Matera.The inauguration will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 at 19.30. Marta Ragozzino, Director of the Pole Museum of Basilicata will take part; Salvatore Adduce, President of the Matera - Basilicata Foundation 2019; Enrica Palmieri, Director of the National Academy of Dance in Rome and curator of the exhibition. All the artists who participated with their installations at the previous exhibitions will be present: Alfredo Pirri, Luigi Battisti, Giuseppe Stampone, Matteo Fato, Bianco-Valente, Eugenio Tibaldi and Marco Neri. Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 11.30 am the exhibition will be presented to the media, which will be able to attend the replica of the dance performance. Information workers will have the opportunity to directly confront the curator and the artists who participated in previous editions. The meeting is open to the public. Sunday, December 2 [free day in all the Italian state museums], at 11.30, will be repeated the choreographic action of the students of the National Academy of Dance.
