MuSST. Museums and development of territorial systems.
The initiative is part of the actions aimed at the creation of the National Museum System, which may include all museums of public or private belonging, organized in compliance with the Guidelines on technical-scientific criteria and on operating and development standards of museums (The Museum in Italy).
To promote the development and realization of the National Museum System, the Museum Directorate General wants to encourage dialogue between the various public and private museums, encouraging the Poli Museums to present innovative proposals that involve other MiBACT institutes as partners, organizations in the cultural, education, third sector and private sector.
MuSST is designed to provide operational support to “system” strategies and to support the design of good practices aimed at cultural and tourist development, with a view to sharing shared values of all resources that represent the identity of a territory.
Among the goals of MuSST, the emergence of a “community of practice” to transfer design expertise to other future proposing subjects and a good practice directory that can provide significant indicators for research and operation.
For 2016, the Directorate-General has allocated a total funding of € 500,000 in support of the projects presented by the Regional Museums Poliets, in accordance with the procedures envisaged by the Invitation to submit proposals.
The list of projects eligible for funding was published in August 2016.
