New spectacular intervention on the facade of Palazzo Lanfranchi thanks to the Museum Center of Basilicata that participates with its own commission to the review Suoni e Luci del Sacro promoted by the Municipality of Matera in collaboration with the Matera-Basilicata Foundation 2019.
Thursday 28 and Friday 29 p.v. starting at 10.00pm [with replies every 15 ‘], on the facade of Palazzo Lanfranchi will screen two special and different video mapping produced by the Opera Society of Melfi, under the direction of Gianpiero Francese and original music by Rocco Petruzzi.
In the context of the review on the ‘Sacro’ the video mapping of the early evening will address the theme of sacred art, which also populates the halls of our Museum, the great home of the culture of the Lucan community. Thanks to refined and explosive effects will be projected on the facade of the Palace, appropriately mapped and contextualized a rich selection of paintings, wood and stone sculptures (and not only).
In the second evening, the special effects will give the audience the feeling of physically entering Palazzo Lanfranchi, passing in front of Carlo Levi’s “Lucania 61” great telescope, before moving on to the still lifes of the D’Errico Collection in Palazzo San Gervasio. The screening will close with a tribute to the new logo of Matera – Basilicata 2019 that will be decomposed and reassembled with extraordinary scenic suggestions.
Both video mapping will be preceded by the projection on the facade of the Church of Purgatory [at 9.30 pm], of images of sacred art from the Palazzo Lanfranchi Museum and from the territory [Sant’Eufemia di Irsina, Madonna di Armento, just to name a few] .
This initiative will have a follow-up Saturday, June 30th, when, always on the facade of Palazzo Lanfranchi, at 9.30pm the Officina Rambaldi, in partnership with the comprehensive Institute Giovanni Pascoli of Matera, will project the video mapping inspired by the performance scripted and realized by the students entitled Son et Lumiére which refers to the “Most beautiful of shame” of the Dossier Matera – Basilicata 2019.
It is a real mini-festival with which the Polo Museale of Basilicata experiments a new form of narration, using the most sophisticated technologies capable of obtaining very special and exciting virtual images.
As always the intent is to broaden the cultural offer of the most dynamic and enterprising Museum of the City, arousing interest and participation of new audiences and in this way proceed on the journey of Matera – Basilicata 2019.
These innovative and suggestive forms of communication will also be used in the future to develop new narratives aimed at keeping alive the interest in the museum and its cultural activities, starting with the summer festival Museums out of hours. Performances under the stars we have been carrying out for a few days on the Terrazza Lanfranchi and in the Giardino Ridola together with the Matera / Basilicata Foundation 2019, Teatri Uniti di Basilicata, IAC – Centro Arti Integrate, Onyx Jazz Club, Cinergia – Cinema Culture Association, Music Association Ensemble Gabrieli, Orchestra Magna Grecia, Energheia Association, Time Zones.
The installation created by Opera involves the use of two projectors of 20,000 ansi-lumens each of the latest generation, capable of reproducing special 3D effects. The video mapping will last 7 minutes and will be replicated every 15 minutes; in the eight minutes interval some images will be projected with background music and warm colors of great emotional involvement. A qualitatively avant-garde show, able to combine the sacred aspect with the purely artistic, with the extraordinary scenic effect of the beauty of Matera, to act as a corollary to an event that promises to be unmissable.
