An appointment of music made by young people [band] for young people and not only, this is the next appointment of the summer festival Museums Fuori Orario. Performances under the stars [July – September 2018], in progress in Matera, on the Terrace of Palazzo Lanfranchi and in the Giardino Ridola, promoted by the Museum Pole of Basilicata with the collaboration of the Municipality of Matera and the Matera – Basilicata 2019 Foundation.
Partners in this project, now in its second edition, are Teatri Uniti di Basilicata, Iac – Centro Arti Integrate, Cinegia – Cinematographic Culture Association, Ensemble Gabrieli – ICO Orchestra Magna Grecia, Onyx Jazz Club, Energheia Association, Time Zones.
Sunday, August 19, 2018, at 21.00, in the Terrace of Palazzo Lanfranchi we can attend the concert of the young Lucanian formation the ROOTS CORPORAL, composed by Rocco Schiavone [voice], Enzo Di Stefano [guitar to arrangements], Francesco D’Alessandro [drums] , Paolo Padula [electric bass], Raffaele Pecora [guitar], Domenico Saccente [keyboards], Angelo Manicone [sax], Carlo Mascolo Furioso [trombone], Pino Melfi [trumpet].
«In the sound of the ROOTS CORPORAL, many elements inspired and dictated by the land of Lucania are outlined in a clear and fleeting way. Terra di Calanchi burned by the sun. As beautiful as it is bitter. It is from this duality, where the places speak for themselves, tell stories, move consciences and seem alive; places where the projections of the musical imaginary are born that find inspiration and representation in those roots, thirsty and strong».
The band was founded on the initiative of Rocco Schiavone and Enzo Di Stefano, in Basilicata, in Ferrandina. In July 2014 the first demo album entitled Let’s Just A Good Vibes was released, composed of 8 unreleased tracks, which explore reggae, dub and world music panoramas. One of the fundamental principles on which the “Weltanschauung” of the ROOTS CORPORAL is based is to re-invent continuously and extemporaneously. The result is a crossover in which the rhythm is perfectly combined with some elements typical of jazz and world music. In November 2017 the videoclip of the song Semi, which anticipates Spreading Reggae EP, released in April 2018, is now available on all digital streaming platforms and contains 4 unreleased tracks.
The concert will be preceded by the performance of another young band from Ferrara, the Epochè composed by Daniele Altamura [vocals / guitar], Leonardo Di Biase [violin], Attilio Sidonio [bass], Mattia Matera [drums] who will play [and sing ] a pop music with American sounds, which lends itself to listening in a light and pleasant way.
«The band debuted in March 2017 at the regional selections of the Wave Love Festival. After a performance with a skipped rope and a mute violin, they enchanted judges and spectators by winning the title of BEST BAND AREZZO WAVE Basilicata 2017. A launching pad for the Epochè which was joined by another very important selection: Radio Capital in fact he has selected him among over 3.000 bands as competitors of the CAPITALENT 2017 arriving in the final with The Second Song one of the most listened and voted by radio listeners, with whom they obtained the pass to perform in Bologna, the Republic of Ideas. After several participations in summer festivals in opening of artists such as Levante, Ex-Otago, Canova, and get on the stage of Radio 3 during Materadio, arrive in the most important live clubs in Southern Italy. Their first album is titled GRANDMOTHER’S HOME».
