MUD DIGITAL MUSEUM PROJECT
Born out of the collaboration between the General Directorate of Museums and Ales Spa – a house of cultural heritage, the MuD Digital Museum project was born with the aim of increasing the performances of state museums in the digital environment by consciously raising the technological aspect of communication with the aim of enhancing the Cultural Heritage at national and international level.
MuD is based on the conviction that technology can amplify the cultural message – offering visitors more opportunities to live in the museum than the extravagance of the visit – and intends to support the museums in designing their digital identity and identifying a effective audience engagement strategy.
Presented at Social Media Week Rome, MuD starts with the zero date of June 10, 2015 and announces the will of MiBACT to create, with the involvement of all stakeholders, the MUSEO 3.0.
The Museo Digitale project was born in the era of the Reform of Cultural Heritage, which aims to create a National Museum System by pushing the accelerator on the theme of valorization.
MuD intends to seize this opportunity that is embodied in the museum through the creation of a network that efficiently and efficiently unites the over 4000 museums spread across the country.
The MuD Working Group is coordinated by Simona Cardinali (Ales Communication Manager and MuD Project Manager), in collaboration with Serena Cinquegrana (Ales), and uses the contribution of cultural and digital cultural experts including Giuseppe Ariano, Alessandro Stamp, Alfredo Esposito, Maria Teresa Christmas.
The project is under the direct supervision of the newborn General Directorate of Museums that completes the mix of knowledge, skills and abilities needed to achieve project goals. Manuel Roberto Guido – Director of Service II of the General Directorate of Museums – leads the MuD Group, with the knowledge of the World of Cultural Heritage and the will to innovate that has inspired the many projects he has been leading.
