Saturday, October 13, 2018 will be held throughout Italy the 14th Day of Contemporary organized by AMACI - Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums, with the support of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, which has also joined the Basilicata Museum District since 2011 , constantly committed to promoting contemporary art, contributing in this way to the Matera-Basilicata path 2019.
For this year's edition, the Basilicata Museum District ofputs at the center of its activities a specific initiative built around the exhibition of Andrea Fogli The Angel of History, edited by the director of the Polo Marta Ragozzino and set up by the Church in July 17 del Carmine of the Palazzo Lanfranchi Museum in Matera.
At 7.30 pm the artist will read excerpts from his Diary of Dust and Clay, published by Quodlibet and introduced by the philosopher Giorgio Agamben. In the diary there are written texts "in the margin" of each sculpture and some of the 59 drawings in graphite powder, accompanied by written fragments, from 1980 to today, in which Fogli wrote down his thoughts on the face, on the image, " powder "and the evanescence.
The passages from the Diario di Fogli, which are related to the works on display in the exhibition, will intertwine excerpts from the book La Frontiera [2015] by Alessandro Leogrande, read by those present and chosen together with Cecilia Bartoli di Asinitas.
Disappeared prematurely in November last year, Leogrande, a journalist and writer from Taranto, a committed intellectual, a friend of the museum and Matera, was known for his civil battle "in defense of the last and the fiercely exploited in the most diverse contexts: of the caporalato, of the immigrants, of the desaparecidos in Argentina, and wherever there has been an abuse "[they are words of the father].
The Day of Contemporary will be introduced at the Sala Levi of Palazzo Lanfranchi at 6.00 pm from the Accordion Young - Nuovo Musicale accordion concert, which will feature the winners of the 2018 International Music Competition: Giuseppe De Nitto and Tiziano Zanzarella. Young musicians will perform a repertoire of contemporary music.
The concert is part of the Fadiesis accordion festival 2018, International Accordion Festival, with which the Basilicata Museum District collaborates since the first edition.
